The procedure to create a new services resource is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Allocations > Configuration > Resources. The Resource Details window is displayed.
- Click on New Resource. All fields are activated ready for data entry.
- Using the Companies drop-down field, multi-select all companies for which this services resource is relevant, or choose the All option, as required
1.
- Using the Resource Subtype drop-down field, select an appropriate parameter value for the services resource e.g. Warden Support, Personal Care, Professional Training, etc. The linked Action Plan and Resource Type fields are populated with the corresponding values.
- Select the Address for the services resource, as required, using the spy-glass icon (
) or proceed to step 7. The Search Address window is displayed.
- Enter sufficient address details into the search fields provided and click on Search. The Search Address window is displayed, returning all possible matches.
- Double-click on the row containing the exact record match or use Refine Search to enter different criteria.
- Enter a Description for the services resource into the field provided

1.
- Enter permitted values for all user-defined fields linked to the selected resource subtype; these determine the attributes of the individual services resource, with the specific entries controlled by the associated data types i.e. Date Only, Date Time, Decimal, Integer, Lookup, Text, Time Only, True or False.
- Choose an Effective from date for this services resource i.e. the date on which it came into effect
2.
- Choose an Effective to date if the services resource status is to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the service will be continually valid.
- Click on Save
3. The new services record is displayed in the alphabetical list, underneath the associated resource subtype heading.
Tip
1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then de-select individual items from the full list, as required; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is de-selected.
2 To aid in identification, it is good practice to employ a consistent naming convention for the services resource description.
Note
1 System validation rules ensure that the description entered for each new services resource is unique for the effective period.
2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
3 To amend the details of an existing service, expand the resource subtype, select a services resource from the alphabetical list (or enter the name into the Search Resources field) and repeat steps 5 through 12. By default the list is filtered to show Current resources. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations.
